The walled garden @ Dunsland was created in the 19th century, possibly earlier as some of the buildings on the grounds are believed to date back to the 18th century. However old it is it really was a gem and it is my hope that we can make it a gem once more.

In later years during the later part of the 20th century it worled as part of a commercial fruit farm and indeed many people from Cork would have enjoyed, strawberries, raspberries etc from this fabulous garden. However over the last 20 years it has fallen into disrepair and become derelict.
We are currently in the process of restoring the area and building 6-8 display garens inside the walls.
The idea of these gardens will be to illustrate what people can do in their own small patch. Themes in the display gardens will be:
How to attract beneficial wildlife to the garden
Native Irish plants garden
Bog garden
Drought resistant garden
Garden for disabled
and of course a kitchen garden
